Class - Juniors (10 to 18 Years)

Any article made from textiles e.g sewing embroidery etc.

Painting in any medium, using own imagination, but must not exceed 40cm x 40cm (framed & able to hang)
Handmade jewellery, e.g. necklace, bracelet, etc.
Article made wood or metal
Any other article not listed

Class - Open (18+)

Conditions

  • All art /craft work framed or unframed must be ready to hang with fittings & wire.
  • Work must be original and completed within the past twelve (12) months and not previously exhibited.
  • Exhibit tickets must be secured on the back of any entry.
  • LATE entries will not be accepted after 10.45am.

Judging Criteria

  • Judges will assess the level of creativity and originality demonstrated in the craftwork
  • The effort and skill involved in creating the craftwork will be evaluated. Judges may consider factors such as the level of difficulty of the craft, the use of different materials or techniques, and the perseverance shown by the participant.
  • Entries that demonstrate accessibility considerations, such as adaptive tools or modifications that enable participation and enhance the quality of the craftwork.
  • Judges may consider how effectively and creatively the materials have been used. This includes the choice of materials, their quality, and how well they complement the overall design of the craftwork.
  • The technical skill and execution of the craftwork will be evaluated. Judges may consider factors such as precision, neatness, attention to detail, and overall craftsmanship.
  • Craftwork that conveys a meaningful story, personal expression, or cultural significance. Judges will appreciate entries that reflect the participant’s unique perspective and experiences.
  • If there’s a specific theme for the competition, judges will consider how well the craftwork aligns with the theme. 
  • For craft items that serve a functional purpose, judges may evaluate how well the item fulfills its intended function while maintaining aesthetic appeal and quality craftsmanship.
  • The presentation of the craftwork is important. Judges will consider factors such as cleanliness, arrangement, labelling (if applicable), and overall attractiveness of the display.
  • Judges will consider the overall impression of the craftwork, taking into account all the above criteria to determine how well-rounded, expressive, and impactful the entry is compared to others.
